Inspired by Brazil-origin cacao, the richness of the Amazon’s biodiversity, and the elegance of grand hotel tradition, the Amazonian Tropic Noir–1946 Afternoon Tea at Balcony Lounge pays tribute to the 80th anniversary of InterContinental’s first hotel in Belém, Brazil.
The set presents a balanced selection of savoury and sweet creations rooted in Brazilian flavours. Savour highlights such as Pão de Queijo with Parma ham, Brazilian Coxinha with shredded chicken, leek and bacon quiche, and Torta de Bacalhau, a classic salted cod tart. Traditional scones are reimagined with lime, served alongside pineapple spiced and orange jam for a distinctive twist.
On the sweeter side, a refined selection of confections showcases the region’s finest ingredients. Signature creations include the Amazon Gold Tart, featuring Brazil-origin chocolate with passion fruit and mango, and the Grand Belém Chocolate Layer Cake–1946 with rum caramel, Brazil nuts, and coffee. A chocolate cigar with coffee praline and subtle notes of rum completes the experience.
This curated afternoon tea is perfectly paired with your choice of premium coffee or tea, including the signature Tropical Noir Coffee and Brazilian Black Tea, offering a refined and immersive finish.
